For the opening post of 'The Crates', i've pulled out a little jewel. Sampled to devastating effect by legendary hiphop producer J.Dilla (R.I.P) on The Pharcyde's 'Runnin' this track is taken from the 1962 album 'Jazz Samba Encore!', a collaboration between master jazz saxophonist Stan Getz and one of the originators of bossa nova, Brazilian guitarist Luiz Bonfa. This whole album is ridiculously smooth and incredibly crafted, definitely ranks up there amongst the greatest samba jazz albums of all time. Click to preview the track.
